Goodbye Ranger

Posted a while ago about my abysmal gas mileage. With registration due this last month I shopped the truck around. Good enough numbers came in that I let it go. Sold my 2021 XLT 301a with 9k miles for $36,500 to a local dealer.

Decided to go a complete extreme from the truck and reserved a Tesla CPO Model 3 that I'll (hopefully) pick up later this week.

Eh, I didn't "need" the truck. With gas prices at $6 a gallon locally and below 14 MPG I couldn't justify keeping it. I don't "need" the Tesla either. Either one is a lifestyle/luxury purchase and I don't kid myself otherwise.

If you don't need a truck and you don't have concerns about range, then I can understand why an EV right now could be a good choice. The only issue is that they are not as fuel-efficient as they once were since California's energy cost has skyrocketed. Still much better than the price of gas now though

Hopefully you don’t have any warranty issues with your Tesla. I hear they make Ford service/repairs look like saints for turnaround. Problem with them is you can only go through them for any repair needs.

Good grief, are you trolling with this post?! Below 14MPG! Do you wear concrete shoes? Even in bumper to bumper city traffic, I still average 18MPG, with conservative daily driving at 22-24MPG and I've gotten up to 28MPG at highway only.

One of the biggest reasons for my Ranger purchase was the gas mileage for a mid-size truck. Having a hard time believing your sub-14MPG claim.
