Good grief, are you trolling with this post?! Below 14MPG! Do you wear concrete shoes? Even in bumper to bumper city traffic, I still average 18MPG, with conservative daily driving at 22-24MPG and I've gotten up to 28MPG at highway only.

One of the biggest reasons for my Ranger purchase was the gas mileage for a mid-size truck. Having a hard time believing your sub-14MPG claim.
Nope, not trolling. 13.8 per the truck lie-o-meter. 13.9 hand calculated over 6 months. Bumper to bumper, stop light to stop light. I granny drove it for a few weeks and was barely mid-14's. Took a 4 hour road trip and averaged about 20 MPG at 75 MPH.

Average spend on gas for this truck over the past 6 months was $513 per month. Whether you believe it or not makes no difference to me, my wallet felt it. Same commute in my 2016 F150 Platinum with the 3.5l EcoBoost was 18 MPG. Driving my wife's AWD Tiguan for that same drive was 24 MPG.

Took the Ranger in twice to the local dealer, told both times that nothing was coming up.

Probably keeps his foot in the Boost part of Eco . I get 19mpg city with my FX4 Lariat with 2 size larger tires and 2.5" level kit and I don't baby it but I don't leave every stop like my a$$ is on fire either ,LOL.

Hopefully you don’t have any warranty issues with your Tesla. I hear they make Ford service/repairs look like saints for turnaround. Problem with them is you can only go through them for any repair needs.

So you selling your tools too?
Nah, still have wife's car and kids car that are gas. Will eventually buy an older beater truck to have around the house.

the only problem with an EV is they're soo damn cheap to drive you'll find yourself going on longer trips for fun.

took a 400 mile trip last weekend to get a bbq sandwich
spent $16 on charging
spent $25 on lunch

A Tesla? Have fun wasting your time at the chargers LOL
Why do you have to waste time when 90% of your charging can be done at home? Tesla super chargers charge most cars in under 45 minutes so not a huge issue.

Tesla super chargers cost 10K. You knew that right? A regular charger at home is around $400 but they take hours to charge. Think wiring has to be 20 amp too

Mine's been just under 17 mpg (16.7-16.9), but I pretty much only do short trips (less than 5 miles), however, I do drive like a granny. Only ever got above 18 on a 43 minute trip at 40 mph.

I'll wait to see what I get if I ever take it out for over a 100-mile trip.

But it is worse MPG than I initially expected ...

Yeah, not sure on the circuit size. We're upping our home's ancient 60-amp panel to 200 and they'll install a 60-amp circuit in the garage for a future level-2 charger (or whatever the faster charger is).

I'm already adding a couple of 240 volt 30-amp circuits for welding and plasma cutting so it made sense to add another panel for home resale value.

When I first got mine I was in the 18’s driving it like my old 3.0 Ranger. Your driving approach is different if you want higher mileage. Once I figured it out I’m averaging 21.5 mpg now. What kills mileage in these trucks is lugging and then adding more gas to get it to downshift. Once you start locking out gears and when lugging manually shift down you’ll see a big difference from a different approach

Good idea. I upped my service to a 200 amp years ago. The 100 wasn’t enough especially with the 60 amp leg going to the garage

you sound well prepared for the inevitable - EV ownership. Don't worry though as I suspect there are many to be found on here with similar repressed aspirations but they struggle on how to come out of the closet. :sunglasses:
