Yeah but mine was glued in and I had to cut it out with an exacto knife. Messy job. The instructions said it pops out. You can't even buy a replacement because it's listed as part of the entire dash piece.

The "Lariat only" part was not there when I bought it either. I complained to them and maybe that had something to do with it? They never bothered to respond.

I wouldd be suprised if there is a difference bwtween the Lariat and the other trim levels for how that is built.

The lariat dash is leather wrapped and that piece pops in and out. The other trims it’s molded/glued in. That’s why it says lariat only it’s the only one that is supposed to pop out.

OK - That makes sense. But if this actually fits and now we know its glued, we should be able to use. Even if it needed to be glued.

Correct as long as you’re willing to deal with it not being a simple pop the tabs out then I don’t see why you couldn’t make it work with glue.

What gauge are you thinking of using - I’ve seen one for that location posted on the forum (can’t recall the name but I hated their branding/logo ? ) but was curious to know if there were others.

Anyone tried this Pod mount?
https://aeroforcetech.com/collectio...019-present-single-gauge-pod-fits-lariat-only.
I don't know about the Lariat only , But my XLT has this vent on dash,
Thanks

OK Gang, I purchased this gauge pod and have started the install. I used a utility knife to release the glued in vent. The vent seemed to be only glue in the corners. With a lot of patients I ran the point of the knife along the rear and the two sides, and that's where I found the lack of glue along the sides and rear. The edge to the front of the vent seemed to have a little more glue along that edge, but with patients it finally released. The complete vent came out in one piece and actually could be re-glued in. Next stop wait for the Banks gauge to continue the install. Another note to consider. the connectors on the Banks wiring will be able to run out of the pod and down from same as there is space around the duct that feed the vent. So far so good,.

Here is my AeroForce pod & gauge installed on my Lariat. It was a snap in fit.

I 'm guessing this is the "generic/universal" gauge, right?

How did you wire it up?

If not, I may try Banks-Performance OBD connector gauge instead....

The gauge is from AreoForceTech. It comes with a OBD harness, as well as the ability to wire in other sensors.
