I feel this can be lumped in with the “only Lariats get an engine cover” trim level oddity...
Apparently XL FX4s do not have the lower section of the front bumper painted to match the added skid plate like the XLT and Lariat. The top truck in this pic is one I just put a deposit down on to have transferred to my dealer. At first it made me wonder “well, if they put on the wrong bumper, what else could be wrong?” After finding some more XL FX4s, at least that build issue concern was alleviated. But...
What the hell? I’m paying for the FX4 package and that look, breaking up the flat/straight front end with the skid sort of wrapping up and around, is something I REALLY like. Just looks a bit more aggressive than the solid black bumper to me. Also, the bottom pic is from Ford’s own website build of the exact XL FX4.
If it didn’t have the parking sensors I would probably look into having it paint matched at my dealer but I’m guessing having to replace those to match as well would be ridiculous. I know it’s a pretty small gripe but it sucks to have anything take the excitement out of finally finding a Ranger with exactly what I want and nothing I don’t.
