Why so many metallic trims?

Can someone please tell me why we have 3 different metallic trims? Not talking about the silver part on the dash and doors. But we have chrome around the radio knobs. Dark chrome around the base of the shifter and vents, and a brushed/satin metallic finish on the door handles and on the shifter itself..

Design? Most vehicles I am guessing has something similar.

Sitting in our base level Rogue right now, I see chrome, flat silver, flat magnetic, glossy black trim pieces.
