Does anyone have or know of any companies that make them? I have the FX4 but it's not very beefy. I see Hooligan Offroad makes one but don't see anyone using them here. Any other options?

I haven't looked into the aftermarket ones but unless you are purpose building your truck for rock crawling you should be ok. I'm not sure what the trails look like in California but here in the Colorado Rockies I have had some fair trails most stock vehicles wouldnt go through and my ranger did it just fine stock. I even hit the front bash plate with a rock and the rest of the truck didnt care. Now i have the Old Man EMU lift from ARB and I can say that I am very happy with it!! The extra clearance it provides is more than enough for most offroad and I have yet to worry about hitting things!! I also have a good idea as to what my truck can and can't do so I have no prblems turning around if necessary. I also dont have the FX4 but I did get the front bash plate and transfercase skid plate added. Here are some pictures of it with the lift. Perhaps that will help you decide on what to do.

The fuel tank "skid plate" is a piece of plastic. Not worth it. I've donked my T-case skid twice now and the FX4 one isn't beefy enough IMHO.
