Been having some issues with my radio. Black screen often that I reset with the skip and volume button truck.
However, I’ve been having some issues with the radio not automatically connecting to my phone Bluetooth. I Ford Pass also doesn’t work on my phone anymore.
last resort was doing a master reset. Unfortunately, when I go to do a master reset, the screen freezes as soon as I hit the continue button for the reset. Gave it about 15 minutes and still get nothing.
Is there a fuse I can pull to get the same reset to occur?
thanks in advance.

***FIXED***
Summary:
Tried to run an update to the newest version via USB and kept getting an error.
Disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes. Reconnected it and started the truck. I waited a minute to let its stupid brain gather its senses. After this I gave it a pep talk. Make sure to talk gently. The Sync 3 system is fragile. Slipped the USB into the port and got the "system updating" banner with no error. Updated fine and now I could do a master reset (which I did) and connect ford pass again.

Just had the same problem with the Ford Pass on my phone. Truck stopped connecting mid December. I logged out, but couldn't log back in and got the loading for a second then a blank screen. After un-installing, restarting phone, and re-installing the app multiple times with no luck; I ended up having to do a factory reset on my phone. I did a backup before resetting phone. It helped some, but not everything reloaded. YES, it was a PIA to get everything set back up again, but it is now working.

GOOD LUCK !!!

Did you have the same issues with the radio itself? Unable to master reset is kind of a concern.

Update:
Tried to disconnect and reconnect to Ford pass. When I open the Ford pass connection setting on the truck, it gets stuck on “please wait…”

What build Sync3 do you have? If anything lower than build 23188, you need to update. Sounds like you may be on build 22257 which has lots of issues.

I have 22251. Checks out, but I just went to do a update and it says “software is up to date.”

You will most likely have to go online and log in - and check for the update there- as the truck will not see an update unless Ford pushes it to the individual truck.
OTA updates suck and produces numerous issues.
Best to do it via USB from Ford or as others use the cyanlabs method.

Did you check through the radio or the website? If through the radio, that is not always reliable so go to the website and the USB method.

Update failed. Said reinstall and try again.
Any suggestions?
I have had good success using CyanLabs. Let the program format the thumb drive for you.

Edit: Use exFAT

What error message are you getting? Be sure you have the USB set up per the instructions.

You could try Cyan Labs but may get the same results. If I were having failed updates along with all the other issues, I would disconnect the battery for a short time to let the hardware reset. After reconnecting the battery, give the system time to completely boot up then try again.

Also, if you disconnect the battery you will need to reset the drivers window auto function.

CyanLabs says only for vehicles manufactured before 2020?
