Toyota bumps top guy here. Posts magically get deleted. Second times a charm.
Bumpstops typically do not need frequent replacing.
Towing, a lot of guys have found success with stock bumpstops only. If you are looking for an upgrade. Sumosprings have been rated very well for towing.
If you are...
I do not know when I pushed this on anybody. What I did do is state how it is, how they perform in my situation, and how happy I am with them. Never have I said these are the only way to go and you suck if you don’t. Only defending the facts.
If it isn’t listed for your truck, don’t go bolting random objects to your truck. It may work perfectly, but the rules are the rules.
In all seriousness, the stubby off Amazon works. They send a few adapters for other applications but out trucks to not require.
Just drove my truck. It fell apart. Bolts everywhere. Warrantee gone.
Do not install these bumpstops. They are a part made for Toyotas.
Kidding.
Been playing with it a lot and haven’t found any downsides. More useable leaf spring before contact is made. Loaded about 10 cases of beer in the bed...
I am not trashing responses.
Sumos are awesome.
Can we use raptor bumpstops on our trucks? Yes. Take a look at those dimensions.
These bumpstops still maintain proper bottom out protection for the shock.
They are the same suspension design.
The only issue that could arise is bottoming out my shock because of the shorter (and better material) bump stop. Good thing I took measurements.
Thanks for the advice. Driving a Prius is a compliment in this economy.
No commission, just trying to help...
Yep, exactly what I pulled off my Tacoma when I replaced them with the wheelers super bumps. Thanks for reminding me of what they look like.
I put these same bumps on my Tacoma, loved how they performed. They are not a harsh bump, but a firm bump. They let your suspension do what the suspension...
This of you that made it this far: sorry this guy had to ruin a good mod/option for our trucks. Any questions on install, sourcing, or performance, I would love to help out.
I am aware on how it theoretically works. I agree with your theory, if the two bumps were made of the same material. However, both stock bump stop options are dog water. The material is very harsh and poorly fitted to daily driving/off-roading in these trucks. The stock bumps are designed to get...
You would think. However, poor design and poor material of large bumpstops are counter intuitive.
For your pleasure, I just went out and ripped through some drainages resulting in some pretty significant bottom outs. By decreasing the size of material, and increasing the quality of material, I...
Follow ranger people,
Here is an additional bump stop option, and in my opinion the best option.
First, the part number for the bumpstop bolt is W505277-S442. If you break your bumpstop bolt on removal like many have. It’s an M10x40 Hex nut if you want to take a trip to Home Depot.
We have...
