So I am looking to get my tow hooks powder coated anyone in here from MD that you could recommend a place for me??

You can paint them fairly easily. If you clean them really well and use brake caliper epoxy paint and put on 3-4 good coats and let them bake in the sun between coats they will hold up really well.

Painted mine 1.5 years ago and still look as good as the day they were painted.

If you have a bunch of stuff you want to coat, you can also get a diy powder coat rig and bake the parts in a toaster oven to cure the powder coat.

oh hey i do have a toaster oven im tired of. burns everything. mostly user error im sure lol. whats a home powder coat setup cost?

Oh hell, no toaster oven needed. Just put the parts in the regular oven. My wife even approved it. No leftover odor or residue. If yours isn't so agreeable, ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

A cheap one like this runs about $160. The prices go up from there depending on features and overall quality of the machine. The low cost units usually do a fairly good job as long as you prep the part to be coated correctly and use the right kind of coating materials for them. The most important part is getting good electrostatic adhesion prior to baking. So a higher voltage unit with a good powder dispersal from the gun is key.

I got tired of constant touch up of a painted hooks...powder coating was also expensive...this made way better sense...you can buy any powder coated shackles on Ebay for cheap...

It was. I wasn't spraying in the oven and it was mostly dry. Just baking the finish.
