I want dual exhaust.I don't need more power or noise. I'm concerned about adding a muffler that doesn't have the 1 inch restriction in it. What is fords reason for it ? Guess I could could cut the new one off and put the old one back on ?

Research... research... research... That One InchFlow Reducer In The OEM Muffler

It's chambered ahead of the one inch opening. Thus not nearly as restrictive as you might think.

Ford no doubt spent 10's of thousands of engineering dollars on the stock exhaust... and I have yet to hear anything aftermarket that actually sounds good. A quiet 4 banger is a good thing.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll buy the MPRP catback rear exit and go from there if it's too loud, maybe resinator tips or fit the stock muffler back on.

I have the Gibson. I don't see much change in sound or power with it, but do prefer the look of the exhaust coming out the rear rather than the side. I personally thought the truck sounded good from the factory.

Totally agree. I've always enjoyed the exhaust sound for almost every vehicle I've owned...except the four bangers. The only time it sounds OK is in a sport bike. And in a Civic/Focus etc., I still don't care for it but at least it's expected. I don't want my 4x4 sounding like a rice rocket.
