I'll be watching to see if you get it fixed. I'm dropping mine off at the dealer Saturday (11/27). Hopefully they'll get the update installed and working. I will let you know if it works.
since I haven’t heard from the dealership in 2 weeks, I called them to follow up on them escalating my modem issue to ford. They have done nothing. The service manager blamed the parts department. So I suspect they are replacing the modem once they receive it.

...And its now January 27, dropped the truck off at the dealership 4 days ago, now I'm told the TCU isn't responding. They've reached out to Ford for a replacement, no ETA on the replacement for the modem. Supply chain issues...so no Fordpass connectivity to the truck for who knows how long. Frustrating..

I dropped my truck off a week ago. Finally got word today it's 'ready', but... The TCU needs replaced it is back-ordered. That effects the FordConnect app features. More to follow on some of the other issues. They did replace the battery, as it was not holding significant charge. I'll have a better update on my problem thread.

Edit - @Ken Smith they said they expect the TCU in a couple of weeks (but, also said it's back ordered...). We'll see.

hopefully they won’t delay in getting it. The ‘dealership’ tells me that ford is being slow to respond about whether they will cover the replacement or not, so they still haven’t ordered my replacement yet. SMH

23 FEB my TCU replacement part came in. They are available, and that only took 23 days… stay on your dealer - hopefully they actually ordered it. It’ll be a minute before I’m available to get it in for the service - mostly due to my schedule.

I’ve been monitoring my battery, just curious if that’s also an issue. They replaced my battery, after it sat on the lot for a week before they got to it, and it tested at 11.7V, but also “failed” a test. This month old battery just sat with a monitor on it for the last week. It shut off at 12.4V, and I check it last night at 12.03. This morning it was 11.7V when I went out to it. Key fob actually worked to unlock it and it started just fine, and charged up fine and was back at 12.430 mins later at my destination. Modern BMS /BCM is an interesting animal.

I am sure glad that the last time that I got a message to accept the new rules, I didnt. Now Ford pass doesnt work at all. :)
I also dont have to look in the back seat every time I get out.

Ridiculous, after the update my truck won't "activate" with my phone.
FordPass is dead. I've tried "everything" nothing works.
Funny, the girl asked "did it work in October?" Why yes it did. Yeah it's the update you have to bring it to the dealer to have them physically install the update.??
Problem is I work nights and sleep days. They won't do it on a Saturday cuz that's just for "maintenance".
Look I bought a Ford they killed a feature available with it, I think they need to accommodate my work schedule.
They have brought out Ford Mobile Service in several areas. There might be a dealer near enough to you who can do an onsite fix.

You can try doing these first, one at a time until you get connected (hopefully!). Be sure that you have the latest system update on your smartphone also. Before starting any of these, ensure that the ignition is in accessory (first click) or on/running, and that you have good battery charge (phone and truck) and strong cellphone & wifi signal strength:
  • Do a reboot of your phone even if you have done so already
  • Do a "forget this device" delete both on your smartphone's Bluetooth menu, and the truck's. Re-pair it to the truck.
  • Do the same for Wifi; ensure that you have a strong signal from your preferred network
  • Sign out of, and uninstall/reinstall, the Ford Pass App. You may need to create a new password.
I think you can download the update from Ford's website yourself to a laptop, smartphone or thumb drive. Reinstall through the truck's USB port from your device.

I finally had to call Ford and talk to a customer relations specialist. I’m being promised a call from the dealership by this Tuesday with an ETA on the TCU. Its a shame you have to call Ford corporate to get the dealership to their job.

Finally the new TCU for my truck came in and was installed again. I finally have a working modem in my truck after 5 months !!
Same here. Mine (TCU) came in within 2 weeks, but I had to wait a bit to coordinate an appointment (on me & my schedule). Install was quick, I had the truck back within 4 hours. I wanted to wait several weeks to see if any of my problems would still present. 3-4 weeks and flawless so far.

Everything has been working better since the TCU was replaced. The battery levels are more normal, the key fob works, and the FordPass App and features work - didn’t even have to reinstall or do anything with the app, it began working as soon as they installed the new TCU. The new battery they gave me a couple months ago fixed a few problems, but the bad TCU is possibly what was causing excessive parasite drain on the battery beforehand.
