Fordpass alternative

Background story: had previous trucks with fordpass. Used to have cool scheduled start capabilities, set it days or week in advance to line up with upcoming flights. Be able to show up to the parking lot with a nice warm vehicle. Since then I bought my new ranger and seemed to have lost that feature. Turned into a 24hr in advance thing. Now to date, lost the feature completely. I tried loading the app a couple more times, so now for me it will be ford'hard pass' going forward.

Has anyone here used other 'start' through cell phone packages? Drone, for example? Temperatures have gone down and would like to be able to start beyond my remote fob distance.

I had Viper SmartStart on my last truck and don't recommend it. Very unreliable and wasn't very friendly to the truck battery

Hi MVranger, are you using Android or Apple? Then which version of the app are you running? I’ve got apple and it appears to have the functions you’re looking for. Apple, FordPass version 3.15.0

I bought my 2019 Lariat a couple weeks ago and tried to setup FordPass....only yesterday did it finally connect app to truck and now the remote start and schedule start features are there. May just be an app issue like with the iOS version. I called their customer support and was basically told sit and wait and check it every day.

I'm on android and mine let's me schedule starts, but only current day or repeat on selected days of week. Maybe need to schedule a non-repeating start the day your returning before your flight leaves.

It is a shame everything has to be "upgraded". Programmers seem to want to always make things "better" haha. Fix 1 thing but mess up 2

For Ford Pass remote start programming. It only likes one entry at a time. If you have used the one entered and it is not a repeating upcoming start delete it. Each time start with a new entry for scheduling starts.

So for me I warmup weekly Mon thru Friday. Just one entry that repeats weekly same time every morning.

if that changes I delete whole thing, do not edit and save!

Once I used it this way it has never missed a start or messed up.

I am going to try to sign out and delete the app one more time, then reload and sign in. Fingers crossed. Wish i could rewind a couple years, fordpass was amazing

I have had mine set up with daily start times about 15min before I leave the office during the week, problem was it would get squirrely on me sometimes and turn off the start calendar mode on its own. I had to go in and do a hard log out and then log back in to get updates and all my features back. At some point it will be a great feature, it's free so I cant complain too loudly.

Very true! The calender feature is what I miss the most (well, not having the option right now trumps it) used it for almost 5 years with zero issues. Now with the ranger, can't seem to get it to work.

I am really hoping to find an alternative. I don't always have cell service or wifi the day of. Used to ve very convenient.......

I had a similar issue with features not available. Turns out it was on the truck end, not the phone. Went on ford owners sync website and entered my vin... There was a sync update that my truck didn't manually do. Downloaded to USB and installed manually - issue resolved.
