I see you've already been in CO way to long.

NO company today is going to all of a sudden lower their prices $10K overnight because they just "supposedly" became more efficient. "Supposedly" inflation is going down yet everything at the grocery store is still going up.

From just 7 days ago:

Really?? Well in 2005 I paid $5k for a 43” plasma TV, which only lasted for 4 years. Now you can buy an OLED of a similar size for $1k or less. EV’s are more tech than current ICE vehicles. And there are over 50% less components to manufacture, warranty, ship etc. on an EV. Fords problem is learning to be more of a tech company that is agile to evolving tech. Not an engine platform that you can run for any number of years with minimal changes. Or should we employ a crank in the grill for starting our cars again? No, I think not.
Car companies just dont want to make engines & transmissions anymore. And with the new battery tech just around the corner, that will become a reality sooner rather than later.
i would suggest finding an amish family to adopt you and get back to some old school roots with a horse & buggy.

I can't tell if you are bragging or admitting a mistake.?
2009 I paid $750 for a 42" plasma TV and it's still working. No need for anything newer since it still works. :like:

 There's always one.

If car companies didn't want to. are ICE anymore they wouldn't be investing or continuing the new Coyote 5.0 and the all new 2.3 Ecoboost both of which will debut in the 2024 Mustang as AL posted above.

No people do not want EV's like the Manufacturers thought they did. Maybe take a breath and read the article or I guess I should quote it for you since you didn't bother to read it the first time.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2023/05/08/ev-sales-2023-slowing/70188358007/

In March, 21% of new-vehicle shoppers said they were “very unlikely” to consider an EV, up from 18.9% in February and 17.8% in January, consumer analytics firm JD Power said in a monthly EV report. In contrast, the percentage of car shoppers who say they are “very likely” to consider an EV was 26.9% in March, largely flat this year.

Persistent worries about charging infrastructure and vehicle pricing’s dampening enthusiasm, the report said. EV’s market share of all new-vehicle sales dropped to 7.3% in March, down from a record high of 8.5% in February but up from 2.6% in February 2020.

lol My dad still has his Pioneer Elite plasma tv from 2005. I keep telling him to upgrade it but he loves it and it's still running great. The only drawback with it (all plasmas) is it gives off a lot of heat. Nice in the winter but makes the room hotter in the summertime.

EV's are not bad, they are just not practical. Nor do they do crap to benefit the environment. End of argument. Now, plug in hybrid EV's....maybe. But battery manufacturing still takes a toll on the environment.

My wife wakes me up asking how long do I need for a nap… after 15 minutes…
No joke! God forbid I doze off in my recliner, which should be the sacred place to nap. After a couple of minutes, hun, are you sleeping? Hun, are you awake? Goddam woman, STFU!

Wow my wife would never dream of waking me up from a nap unless the house was on fire...

I paid $3800.00 for a Mitsubishi 42 inch tube TV when it first came out. It was so big I sold it 2 years later for $50.00 and bought the first Sony 42 inch lcd rear projection for $2800.00 ? . Also bought the first Direct TV satellite box in our area for $1200 because the TV picture looked like garbage on antenna. Spent the night outside Circuit City to get it. I used to make the mistake of being the first guinea pig for new technology. I learned and now know just like electronics first generation EVs won't be worth much in a couple years.
I get jealous watching the Amish wagons go by. They got it right and everything is biodegradable with no environmental hazzards created.

They really should perfect the hybrids first. If I could get a PHEV Ranger with at least 50 miles to it I'd be all over it. I'm sure there day will come soon enough but this whole big push to shove full EV's down everyones throat is backasswards.

Then the conspiriciy side of me starts thinking. If the government wants this so bad it's only for their own good, ie MONEY! Because all these hypocrites like Al Gore who've been preaching for 20+ years still fly around the country in their big private jets and have huge mansions that use more electricity than the state of Rhode Island. Once they STOP doing this I'll take them seriously.

So 79% of shoppers WOULD consider an EV. And those ICE engine developments will also die on the vine moving forward, these are just bridges for allowing the EV tech to evolve further. We just sold a tooling package at Ford Cleveland for that 2.3 program, it will be gone in 5 years, with 5 years of service parts planned after that.
