Ford Ranger 3.2 vs 2.2 power reliability etc?

Hi all,

I am currently in the market for a bakkie and I'm leaning towards a Ranger. I'm totally new to ford, having owned VWs and Landies previously... My budget can unfortunately only stretch to about a 2012-2013 model.

So what do you guys think, If you've owned your ranger for a few years or have a 2012 model please inform the uninformed.

Servicing costs - I'm hoping coming from a landy it would be less.
Fuel consumption?
Power? Have to tow a motorcycle trailer once in a while, is the 2.2 enough?
And anything you might want add...

Not much help here as the Ranger to which you are interested was not available here in the US market. What is a bakkie??? As Winston Churchill said "Two great nations divided by a common language"....

We only have the 3.2 turbo here in the states.

Confusing but I think it's this; we have a gasoline 2.3L, the 3.2L is a turbo diesel for the rest of the world. The 2.2 is also a diesel I think.
