An honest mistake. It is obvious if it is in the manual, that FORD wants you to break it off. Ford wants folks to do a great deal of harm to their products after the purchase. I have no idea why, but corporate actions speak far louder than words.I did find it rather odd, that a manual would tell you to break something and is designed not to be removed without damage.
