I'm so glad I found this post! I bought a revolution motorsports turbo inlet tube. When I seen that orange connector and read it had to be broken off. I had to put everything back in, being it was a Sunday, and all the dealers were closed.

I did find it rather odd, that a manual would tell you to break something and is designed not to be removed without damage.
An honest mistake. It is obvious if it is in the manual, that FORD wants you to break it off. Ford wants folks to do a great deal of harm to their products after the purchase. I have no idea why, but corporate actions speak far louder than words.

Mazda is the same. Use 5w20 oil, when the fill cap states 5w30, and every where else in the world Mazda recommends 5w30 for the identical engine. I'm running 5w30 and the engine likes it - alot!
