I've been driving a lot in Sport mode lately, and notice that as soon as I engage it the auto start/stop function is automatically disabled. Anyone know if there's a reason for this? It doesn't seem that using auto/stop in Sport mode could cause any damage.

I ask because I'm one of the few people who actually like the auto start/stop feature:crazy:. I only shut it off if I've got the AC going (it'll it shut itself down soon enough anyway) so I'd like to keep using it in Sport mode. And I don't know if this makes a difference, but I do have the Ford Performance tuning kit installed.

Sport mode disables start/stop. Not sure there is any way to get it back in sport mode.

If you want to be sporty and race off the line, the last thing you want is to begin a race with your engine off.

I can find it- it's in my glove compartment. It would be great if it actually gave me the information I need, however, it doesn't address my concern so that's why I asked here.
So I take it you are not asking why it is happening you asking why it was engineered that way?

The manual is less than helpful. I looked after reading this thread and the manual only says that you have to be in D for ASS to work.

I did just test it, and when it Sport ASS goes off, BUT, it can be turned back on and it does work in Sport mode. Learned something new. Not sure I'd ever use it like that, but it does work.

Basically, yes. Is it set up that way for a reason I should be aware of? I don't want to keep operating in Sport mode with the auto/stop activated if the Ford engineers feel that could cause problems.
