Instead of criticizing Ford, I think we should give them a hand! Not only did they accordingly to the issue, they're paying for it! Hurrah for Ford's management.

Same here. Love my Fords but they've built crap transmissions for about 20 years starting with the Taurus. I had two Sport Tracs and the 5r55E and even the 6 speed with the V8 are lucky to last 100,000 miles and almost no one gets to 150k without a rebuild. Mine was rebuilt at 130k despite three fluid changes since new, my transmission guy says it's just a weak design like the Taurus. My daughter got a new 2014 Fiesta, been back to the dealer twice for TSB's on the trans and it's bad enough that there is a class action lawsuit about Fiesta and Focus automatics (I told her to get a stick).
Chrysler arguably had the worst auto trannies in the 90s into the 2000s , they just didn't last, I think the clutches would just wear out. I heard Ford's CVT was pretty bad. I recall when Chrysler's trannies were failing in the 90s one of the car mags conducted a side by side teardown of Toyota's and Chrysler auto boxes and the difference in design and build quality was remarkable.

To their credit, Dodge did stop producing the worst transmission they had in their Chargers and stuck with the better ones.

not so fast. I had a tranny replaced on my 2012 F150.
brand new, not remanufactured or repaired.
Not saying some people dont get remanufactured, but they better be clear on what you're getting.

In this case, its a repair. I doubt many will get replaced transmissions anyways.
Only going by what I was told via a dealer! Does the vehicle warranty say new replacement or just replaced? Would really like to find out for sure.

As long as they honor the original warranty with it, isn't that enough? Although, I tend to see extended warranties given with replacements due to recall.

Great satire! You should consider writing for The Onion?

See if I have this issue correctly.

You buy a Ford product, you abuse it, something fails, and you blame Ford for building a trashy transmission?

As I stated in another post, everything breaks, sooner or later. If you just happen to have a baby failure, doesn't mean everyone else's "part" is bad as your's was. What counts, is how your dealership handles the issue. If you're civil in your contact with your dealer, you'll get things handle reasonably. But if you acted like the dude at my local Ford dealer did last Monday, you're asking to pay for the damage yourself!

Maybe it is a COVID thing?
