I use this. Multiple uses. Step, pooper, and protects you from rear ends.

Yeah!! I could use that every day. Might make for an interesting road sideshow

The price of the bed steps is why I just purchased a new rear bumper with the steps built in.

Best mod I've done to my truck.

It would be WAY to expensive to ship a bumper to where I live. So not really an option, actually the cost of the bumper would probably be the same as the shipping cost.

Why are the Bed steps for these things so expensive? $300 man I really want one but that is nuts. I know DeeZee makes a fixed one but that looks like a shin killer.
I spent the money on the Bestep and love it, use it a lot and worth every penny or should I say dollar. Even the wife thinks it is the best mod I made.

The step hole built into the Chevy and gmcs is one feature I like. I've also wondered why. O one makes a longer step bar. It would super nice to be able to step on the bar in front of the rear wheel ND reach into the front of the bed.

If I remember right think next gen Rangers will have the bumper steps. They listened to us possibly? ?

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I looked at the Bestep kit, and it is a more complex install than just a bolt or two. There is a complete bracket that bolts to the frame, and the folding step mounts to that. I will more than likely get one as I really need a bed step, and don't want a different bumper. What's another $300 after $5K :)

The next Gen Aussie has it so hopefully we get it too.

What bumper? Pics
Black Horse Off Road bumper.

You can't see i from this angle but it also has provision for LED light pods.

I have 2 4" cubes mounted in there and they are very bright. Makes backing up at night a FAR more pleasant experience.

for the supercab I would like to see a step in front of the rear wheel as well. like As I get older I can't jump on the bumper or rear wheel like I used to.

I’m quite happy with the DeeZee. Despite what some of the pictures appear to depict, it protrudes beyond the bumper less than one inch. I’ve not kicked it once.

Tried for many months to get the Bestop. Finally gave up and cancelled. Got the DeeZee. I’ve never bumped it. I thought I might, which is why I tried so hard to bet the Bestop. Glad now I got the DeeZee and pocketed the difference.
