Folding Headrest Won't Unfold

I have a 2019 XLT crew cab and I folded down the rear headrests to do some cleaning, and now one of them won't click back into place; it stays in the folded down position. Does anyone know of any fixes that can be done or other ideas to keep it vertical?

I think you have to push the button in to lift it back up, maybe you've already done that.

Do you mean that you can't raise it back up or it can be raised up, but won't latch in the up position?

Incase you didn't know, they lock in both positions, up and down.
Push the button again to raise it back into the upright position.

My 2019 doesn't lock in the down position. You just need to raise it back up and it then locks in the upright position.

Ah, I just checked both this time. My driver's side does not lock down. My passenger's side, the one I used to verify earlier, is stuck down. It feels like I'm going to break it if I force it upright. I even pressed the button to fold it up. That didn't work.
Well, damn. I think I might just take them both out and not worry about it.

I have the - Folding - (Mod Swap) from OE
They do not lock down - but will lock upright (and you must press the button) to unlock and fold back down..
They both just (Flip Up) no button press required
Even (if) the button was stuck (IN) they still rotate upright.
I would pull it off or pull the cover and see what slipped out of place and blocking it from rotation.

Its been awhile since I had these opened up - but I do recall you being able to see the inner workings and the (foam) will slide off the actual headrest.
My rear seatback folds however - easier to get the headrest off, I think the Scab is not as simple.

As AIrline Tech stated you can get to part of it. When I did my leather upgrade, I looked at the headrest's function.

Thanks for the replies - the issue is that it won't return from the folded down position to the upright position. The button has no function with regard to it locking back up - based on the other headrest on the rear seat you simply lift the headrest from the folded down position and it clicks back into place by itself. The one in question does not click - so my assumption is whatever is supposed to click it into position is broken...

I'll see if I can open it up without damaging the fabric cover and see if anything looks obviously out of place. My other thought is just to stuff something up from the bottom side of the headrest that'll hold it in the upright position....
