Driving my pristine 2020 to get some food last Thursday and got rear-ended. I was doing probably 20mph, halfway through an intersection after a couple of cars turned off, and boom. Smacked by a 2001 4Runner. He hit the receiver mostly, and got most of the damage. (Too bad I'd removed the hitch earlier that morning because I could have got the oil cooler and radiator too) Anyway, it looks like he just shoved the right bumper (3 piece) in a little. No dents, no damage I can see as of yet. I may be able to remove the plastic tread stuff, loosen some bolts, and roll it back down into place as it looks like it simply pivoted. I hope that's the case as the guy had borrowed the car, has a TX driver license, and the owner has that crappy Fred Loya insurance with exclusions for drivers. Small Claims Court would be my only recourse and frankly, not worth the hassle. We need tougher penalties for uninsured drivers and shitty insurance companies.

Sucks to hear dude. I swear the drivers coming to visit CO are getting worse and worse.

I was headed to Costco last week and almost got smacked by a M2 Competition. Car would've probably driven up under the rear end. Then on Saturday, I was headed up Boulder Canyon, came around a corner, and a flippin Subaru slammed on the binders because they missed a turn, caused traffic to back up, and kicked the collision avoidance on. Our Collision avoidance works wonderfully by the way.......

Hope its an easy fix on your end @FordFreak. Wishing you the best of luck in this endeavor

I heard Toyota drivers don't like our Rangers, but that's taking it a little too far.
That's unfortunate. I hope its a simple fix for you.

Good luck with that given that Colorado leads the nation in auto thefts, some 20 yrs back iirc there was a crackdown on uninsured drivers and by law it's a misdemeanor with provisions for jail time and fines, but enforcement not a priority, at one time you were required to show insurance proof at reg time. Given it's Colorado and a sanctuary state and with continued rising costs it will only get worse with drivers not being able to afford insurance. I always carry uninsured driver coverage and expect that cost to rise.

To be fair, you're still required to show proof of insurance when registering a vehicle. It's a computerized system that is updated by the insurers. They missed my Mustang on year 2, and I had to upload proof to [email protected] before I could renew online.

I always pay the couple dollars extra for the uninsured motorist. That way my truck gets fixed right away and the insurance company can go after the other driver.
Still have to pay the deductible...I have uninsured motorist. Damage is less than my deductible. I have 2 vehicles and have never caused a wreck, so I keep a fairly high deductible ($2k). I wasn't expecting an uninsured kid from Texas driving a borrowed vehicle he wasn't allowed to drive. If I'm unable to repair it (99.9% sure I can) then I will sue the owner for allowing the guy to drive his truck.

That's how it works here. You have to show proof when registering or inspection, but that's every 4 yrs for reg. and 2 yrs for inspection. But if you let your insurance drop, a notice is sent to the DMV. If you are stopped, big fines and towed car.

I hate Masshole for the most part but our insurance here is no fault. The company will fix your car minus deductible and go after the other operator for claim. Insured or not. Most cases you get your deductible back too! You cannot register a car here without insurance. The other bonus is glass breakage is fully covered.

Colorado is at fault for accidents. It’s better if you’re a good driver because lower rates. Both of mine with full coverage is like 430.00 every 6 months.

Well at least you didn't have 6k in hit and run like I did. Sure wished I caught up with this person. It's all good now, spent about four weeks in repair as they couldn't find a new bed box. So we had to settle on panel replacements. These guys did amazing work.

There all going there to buy weed what do you expect LOL
Our "weed statistics" actually show a decline in use since it was legalized. I don't partake, but I do think it's better than alcohol because there aren't any hangovers, and you never hear of someone getting "stoned" and beating up their wife like you do with alcohol.

Yeah, I did get lucky he didn't run, but with traffic that day he would have had a really hard time. Our traffic off the charts the last few years, and they're just now thinking about wider roads.
