Fitting into garage

My JL Wrangler Unlimited is 15.7 feet long. It fits in my garage pretty well. I have about a foot of space in front and in back. I figure I could in theory fit a vehicle up to a maximum of 18 feet in length.

I just looked up the specs and it seems the JT Gladiator pickup is 18.1 feet long, and the Ranger is 17.5 feet. So the Ranger will fit better for me.

I've never parked in a garage in my life. Always let my wife have the spot, and didn't have space for another vehicle. Well we just built a new house last year and I specifically made the garage wider for both of us to fit in. It's GREAT being able to park in the garage. No scraping ice and snow before leaving for work! No getting out of the vehicle in a thunderstorm downpour and running for the front door! So...that is now a big consideration for me and it looks like the Ranger is a better fit. +1 for Ford.

Yup. I have been thinking about getting an F-150 for the past couple of years, but one of the biggest detractors is that it doesn't fit in the garage. For me, not fitting in the garage is more than just an annoyance, it's an actual logistical issue, as our garage is angled 90 degrees from the driveway, so I can't park "in front" of the garage without blocking the wife's access. Furthermore, I can't park in the driveway because the sidewalk is in the way and the truck doesn't fit in front of or behind the sidewalk.

The Ranger technically fits in my garage, but I'm worried that it'll be such a tight fit that it's not really feasible due to the 90 degree turn. That's the last thing I'm waiting on before I place my order, but waiting isn't that big of a deal since I want at least the keyless entry pad, which isn't available yet.

Garage-kept vehicles are the way to go if possible. My Mustang is a 2015 and I'm still on the original windshield wipers. The car looks practically new.

Before I bought my Mustang I measured out the garage. It's a side-entry garage and the pavement to the garage is wide enough for two cars. I can back it down the driveway and park it backwards in the garage using the camera.

I'm afraid that I'm screwed when it comes to the new truck. I can only get my Tacoma in the garage if I move the wife's car. Even then I have to shimmy behind the rear to move past it.

I'm going to attempt the reverse trick with the Ranger. The camera and sensors should really help. Since the camera gives you full visibility of the rear end it should be possible. It will be tighter. it just means that we need to open the garage to move around the vehicles. If not we will just have to move!

Hah, you can always cut the sheetrock and square out the 2x4s to allow room for the bumper to press in. Pick up a few inches that way. Just saying. Helped my buddy do that so his F150 with a ranch hand bumper guard would fit. Just kidding (sort of), the Ranger is shaping up to be a solid option. Looking forward to early adopters opinions.

I would like to see pictures on this thread in the garage parked next to your second vehicle. Only thing stopping me is the 2 steps leading into the house. I will be blocking over 50% of that because it will need to be nosed forward almost to the step. Still doable I'm thinking.

I had a Red 70 that I used to tow my drag car (70 340 duster). Made a pretty good tow rig.

I appreciate the insight on garage parking. I live in Seattle and I think the Ranger fits. But it’s tight. I know the F150 doesn’t. Going to have to take out the tape measure!
