So since you cut the mounting tabs off, did you use double sided tape or ??? to put the vent insert back in place?

That is correct. Adhesion promoter and then auto body double sided tape

Don't know about this. Voids have a natural affect on your eyes and brain. Draws attention and asks a question on what missing.

I am in discussions with myself on what is next. I will eventually replace the XLT with something, but have not decided upon exactly what as of yet.

In another post there was a vent for sale that actually vented the eng compartment. They were ridiculous prices, so I am thinking of DIY my own vent with my initials instead of Fords and opening up the vent.

Those functional vents do look rather nice. As soon as I have access to another pair of the OE vents, I will take them apart and look into building something similar to those. I haven't had a fender repair job on a new Ranger as of yet to source them from.

I'm waiting for a decent priced ford vent clone to come around on something like Amazon. Not paying a few hundred for plastic of that size. I agree looks better with those.

Started down this rabbit hole last night then margaritas pulled me away. This morning I find these threads so now fell in the rest of the way. Thank you.

Of course I'm not surprised to find that some of you have already tackled the fender badge mods. Now I have to merge them and add another wrinkle. An F150 badge I saw while surfing last night started the "hole" thing.

Using OP Kevin's efforts here, I want to place TREMOR on that small piece in some form using the correct red to match the grille nostrils. Sadly the piece is small, so I'm not sure how well it will be seen but I'm after fine detail not a statement.

In the middle of this (and just before the margaritas came out) I became weak and bought the Ford vent badges. But I'll not likely use them because I'd prefer an illuminated OE Lariat TREMOR badge.
