Faint clicking nose when accelrating

I noticed for the first time that when accelerating normally (not flooring it) I hear a faint clicking noise for a couple seconds. I've never noticed it before, it seems to have just started. At first I thought I had a pack of gum or something rattling around but after removing everything the clicking still occurred when accelerating. Truck has around 2,500 miles on it, no other issues, and no check engine light.

Thoughts?

Just an update on this. I played around with this a bit more. It's more of a buzz sound than a clicking sound. It seems like others in different threads have had a similar issue. If I put the truck in neutral, press the brake and then press the accelerator I can make the buzz sound continuous. It's not overly loud but it just started doing this and is noticeable. A clicking sound would be more like a grill ignitor and that's not it. THis is much more like a vibrating/buzzing sound.

Hi,

Noises like this are very difficult to pinpoint. Something is loose, bent, etc. At Ford, I used a mechanics stethoscope with the diaphragm rod removed. Just the earpiece and the plastic tube. This makes the thing very directional. It makes it pretty good to radar into the source of the noise.

The DI pump & injectors are very loud on the Ranger. The loudest I've heard across Ford's GTDI range.
