Are the '15-'20 F-150 LED CHMSLs/third brake light assemblies all the same dimensions as the Ranger's? I keep finding conflicting info, but they seem to be the same. I'd like to replace my XLT incandescent housing with an OEM LED model without breaking the bank.

Why not just replace the bulbs with bright LEDs? I did it and they work great and are certainly brighter than the OEM F-150 unit and likely far cheaper.

I may end up doing that, but if I can find a reasonably priced LED assembly I'd prefer to do that.

There are aftermarket LED assemblies for the Ranger. I do believe the F150 assemblies will fit.

One advantage of replacing the bulbs with LEDs instead of the whole assy is that you can get really bright bulbs or the same lumens as the incandescents , what ever you prefer. And cheaper than a whole CHMSL. I used THESE, very bright. Bought 2 sets to replace all 3 bulbs ~$28.
I also wired up the cargo lights to come on when in reverse - thread LINK.

Would you have a source/link for LED lights to replace the stock bed light and rear lisc plate lights?

I bookmarked that so I can get to it when I have a chance. Thanks again for that!

Do those LED lights generate enough heat to worry about?

Less than the incandescent bulbs. I had them in my Frontier cargo lights for a few years and no yellowing of the lens or melting.
