Yes, I agree. Stuff happens but they've stepped up to the plate, found the problem and rectified it. Can't ask for more than that.

It looks as though they have shipped the replacement letters so I get another chance to screw this up....err.....no...I get another chance to do this right..... I'll let you know how it goes!

I got the replacement Eyecatcher inlays and they do have a nice clear film - not even close to the semi-opaque film on the first set of letters. This should make installation quite a bit easier, which I'm hoping to do later today.

I think it worked out okay. I did add a bit of a twist to the Eyecatcher instructions but the clear film made this a much easier job. Finding the perfect 'edge' to align the tops is still a bit tricky (would have been easier with young eyes tho). The twist I added was putting a piece of tape right where the indentation in the tailgate starts to angle outward. Locating the end of the tape along this 'seam' makes aligning the top of the letters to this 'seam' a snap. Now it just needs aligning L-R before pressing the clear film down. It looked okay so I lightly pressed on the letters then removed the clear film. It still looked like a keeper even to my OCD eyes so I pressed the letters in good and re-waxed the tailgate.

EDIT: I did not cut the letters apart. They were spaced perfectly on the clear film and doing two letters at once aids in keeping the letters level.

Here is how the letters match to the Magnetic trim. Not a perfect match but pretty close....

And here is an example of how I placed the tape...

I just ordered mine. Will be installing on New Year’s Day assuming delivery goes as planned. I went with the magnetic to try and match existing trim. A bit pricey but based upon reviews here I pulled the trigger....

Thanks for the lead....ordered the chrome to match my chrome package on white platinum. Glad I held off...raised letters are what I wanted so TDV was not an option. Also the other company that is inflexible on their coloring....

Hi Coby,

Will do...wife the artist and colorist thought the black was too "in your face" and we will see about the chrome...Kinda excited to get these letters which is something I would normally just go ho hum...This Ranger brings out weird emotions that create a spark...way cool!

I don’t think you could go wrong with chrome or black, both would look great with the chrome. I went with black on my white platinum truck but I have the Sport appearance package and no other chrome.

I got the gloss graphite yesterday and went ahead and installed today. The color match to magnetic isn't perfect but it's pretty dang close and looks good I think!
