Has anyone been dealing with vendors taking 3 months, or more, to ship things their website never said was on back order? I'm dealing with a rather prominent vendor in the community and I've only received HALF my order in almost 3 months (3 months as of the 4th).

They said they expected the parts end of December. Then in a "few weeks" at the beginning of January. Any time I ask them for an update (they've already taken my money), they just say "we'll email you the tracking number when it ships". In other words, they stopped setting time expectations.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with the whole situation and am not sure what to do. I want the parts, I just am starting to feel like they're never going to come, or it'll take another 3+ months (with zero assurance).

Any similar experiences and/or thoughts/advice?

Well those of us that ordered from ShrockWorks certainly have. I just received parts (not ShrockWorks) for my Jeep today that I ordered on Black Friday. In 2020, it took over 4 months for a some other Jeep parts

I still feel like this should be the exception. Every other part I've ordered has come within a reasonable time (a couple to few weeks). IF something is going to take 25%+ of a YEAR to arrive, or longer, why are you selling it? Or why aren't you setting expectations properly.

I've never had to wait this long for anything ordered online in my life, and while I still want the parts, I'm getting more and more frustrated with the lack of apparent concern or care from the vendor. It's basically "deal with it" so far.

Was one of those items an original engine cover? Because if it is, you will never get it as those have been discontinued. They have a replacement out now, at twice the cost.

I sent them a firmer email today, outlining why I was displeased. Mostly because of their poor customer service (bed-side manner is basically deal with it and leave us alone). And poor expectations. Every time I contact them, they say "end of the month" or "in the next few weeks". The date never gets closer.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the product is still listed on their website with an availability of IN STOCK, SHIPS in 1 - 2 DAYS.

That's what I saw when I ordered it. They apparently don't care about lying to people.

Some years ago, I bought a 3d printer from Gearbest website. It said, 'ships in 2 - 3 days'. What they didn't say was 'ships from China in 2 - 3 days.'

Not sure why you're hesitant to share the vendor.

If they are a "prominent vendor" here sharing the full story will help in a couple of ways.

Give them another chance to explain here. And, more importantly, let us know who to avoid.

Just saying "a prominent vendor" is pointless. At that point everybody is assuming they know who you mean and half are wrong.

Just tell us who it is already.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I always hold back at first to give them a chance to make it right.

Thankfully, after my last email, and showing them that their website currently said available, ships in 1-2 days, they came up with a solution to cleanup/refinish their store model of the product and have it shipped this week.

We agreed, as long as it's identical to the product I ordered, all is well. So, we'll see what happens when I get the part and go from there.

The last thing I want to do is nuke a vendor over something fixable. If they hadn't made it right after this last email, I would have shared who they were to apply more pressure from the community.

The original intent of this email was to find out of it was just this vendor, or a more wide sweeping issue in the industry to help gauge my response.

You're a more patient/forgiving man than me.

After a month of that bullshit I would've charged back through my card and "nuked" them here.

Life is to short to deal with assholes.

Just so you know. Everybody reading this is asking themselves "is he talking about Stage 3?"

Like it or not, you've partially nuked at least one vendor here by sharing.

There really is only one "prominent vendor" here.

I might have given them longer than I normally would (busy season and all).

To your point, I apologize. It wasn't my intention to cast shade on anyone, but to gauge the industry as a whole.

That being said, I will say, I've ordered multiple parts from Stage3 and they are one of the best vendors I've ever dealt with, period. I have nothing but good things to say about them and will absolutely be buying more parts through them in the future. And to be crystal clear, I wasn't talking about them.

Damn, the mystery remains.

I’ll add in my short experience with Stage 3, they were great. Ordered a Bilstein kit when they said they had only 1 in stock on a Sunday. I called Monday after work to verify that they did in fact have that 1 in stock (I’ve ran into issues where vendor’s have forgot to update stock) and the fellow on the phone looked up my order and verified that it was indeed the last one in stock I purchased and where it was coming from and arrival dates. Rear shocks came Tue, and the rest will be here Friday. So very good service and fast shipping in my case.

If anyone is dying to know, feel free to private message me. As I said, because they've made it right at this point, I don't think it's fair to blast them publicly.

In the future, I'll be more discerning with how I word things or what I post. I appreciate the feedback.

Glad to hear it.

Frank & Co over there have been our go to guys for a while. Didn't sound like their type of operation, but like I said, when I think "prominent Ranger5g vendor" only one name comes to mind.

Like dfresh said.. I was convinced you were talking about stage 3 lol. They'll tell you something us in stock and take your money on said item while not even knowing if the item in question is still being produced ?‍♀
