Yeah and the mighty Texas power grid was laid low by excessive reliance on renewable energy, someone once said. Time to inform the civilized world about the dangers of renewable energy and those villainous EVs. The uncivilized world - don't care much about it.

I worked as a HV substation electrician, and we had a 125 vdc battery bank for backup GDACS control power. Well we had a electrical engineer that tried to tell me that the battery bank had no arc flash potential. Because his superiors had yet to write the tech data for it so it didn't exist in his mind. So I couldn't convince him otherwise. So I handed him a 1 7/8" combination wrench and said go lay that across the + and - terminals. He said no lol. I said why "there's no arc flash potential right?". He wouldn't admit still he was wrong. The guy couldn't think for himself.

could be light at the end of that long dark EV tunnel ? but take it one step further once the world comes to it's sense regards the EV malaise and the bloom is off the rose those evil EV lith-ion batts could be repurposed on a larger scale as fuel for power plants - do they emit less emissions than coal - time to get a gov funded study underway.

Well, if you listen to our PM in canada, his belief if that if we all drive electric cars, there will be no more hurricanes as hurricanes are from global warming. Smart man. He already sees the long term goals of preventing electric car fires

Has he been hanging out (drinking Foster's)with the Aussie PM, IIRC that dude had the audacity to proclaim that the wildfires in Australia were somehow tied to global warming. Also I believe Australia has joined the madness and is on a path to ban ICE vehicles. Maybe someday someone will produce a horror movie on this subject, kind of akin to the zombie movie craze where infectious madness and flesh eating zombies take over the planet, but a small dedicated resistance group of ICE owners will fight back and against all odds save civilization or at least the oil companies . Just a thought.
Not suggesting that drinking Foster's can somehow cause erosion of mental capability - but who really knows and I'm not planning to find out anytime soon.

Well I’m a unicorn then. Have a 2022 Tremor to do all the things that our 2023 Escape PHEV we have on order can’t. And have the Escape on order to do the things the Tremor can’t. Two car family and PHEV is a perfect fit for the lovely and amazing wife’s driving habits.

If I hadn't done so much work to my 5G, I would strongly consider trading up for an PHEV Ranger whenever that hits the US market

Let's revisit these numbers when there are as many EVs on the road and in accidents as there currently are ICE . The per 100,00 really doesn't mean much right now . Maybe miles driven would be a better comparision . I'm curious what the injury rate will be for the heavier EVs in a crash than the lighter weight ICE .
