this is not good..................https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2025/06/23/electric-vehicle-blunder-ford-recalls-nearly-200000-mustang-evs-due-to-dangerous-door-lock-malfunction/?
Just what happens to anything dependent on a battery.....battery takes a dump....nothing works properly.
Solution.....install a gas motor to recharge battery......just like our Rangers !!!
For info, our Rangers could be considered "Hybrid".....it has a gas engine, and several battery powered electric motors like fan, seat, vent, mirrors, ect.....all powered by ELECTRIC motors.
Look up "hybrid"....just says a combo of gas engine and electric motor....dosen't say electric motor has to power the vehicles movement..... A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct types of power, most commonly a combination of an internal combustion engine (like gasoline or diesel) and an electric motor powered by a battery. This combination is designed to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
EV's work just like anything else in that respect. They have 12V batteries that powers the accessories. This 12V battery is independent of the 400V drive battery, but is what kicks on the relays for the drive battery (Just like starting a car). The designers don't 'have' to design EV's to be so different from normal ass cars, but they like to different. So the door handles are weird. Both front and rear doors are cable operated from the inside, but are push button electrical from the outside, so you can see where this would be an issue with child locks on.
They could have just designed it to be normal like anything else... So not really an EV issue specifically.
