I purchased one of those PCV plates years ago and still have it in the box new. I did look it over and I don't recall it having a rattle to it. I'll break it out and see if it is a true check valve. One would think so. I know the back side had ribbed baffles to catch oil vapors. I remember thinking how hard it would be to replace it. Part of the many screws were located up just under the intake manifold.

I installed the correct hose. No change. I'm prepping to use Forscan for more insight.
Today I was at 70 mph left lane and saw a semi wanted to come over. So I stomped on my Ranger for a burst of WOT to clear ahead of him. ...I don't do this often, but it is fun when I do.

About 10 min. later I noticed the MIL was off. Apparently this 'Italian tune up' shook something loose or allowed the PCV circuit to clear its throat. I assume the fast, and maybe large change in MAP had something to do with it.
....any ideas?

I don't recall the code I got after installing my UPR - even with assistance from an employee - but the Ford dealership said I hadn't seated the hose securely under the manifold (after sacrificing a good bit of skin) and they got it secured. Fortunately this was the same dealer UPR would work with when developing their equipment so I didn't get treated like I voided anything.

Good to hear. I have one year+ left on my seven year ESP. My dealer doesn't appear to be a shark and has treated me fairly so far. But I'm a little worried if I come in for any legit complaint they'll point to the can.
I bailed on the 2019 UPR installation after several hours. I cut the PCV hose as it drops down under the right side, clamped in two quick connect male couplers and spliced the can into that line in vapor flow from the valve cover to the manifold. ...I'm getting plenty of juice, so it's working.
