Just an FYI. I'm no mechanic or have much knowledge of engines, but fortunately a lot on here do. I bought a Ford Tune because I have a 7 year warranty and it wouldn't void it.

So impressed with the tune I wanted to buy a Cold Air intake, downpipe, and cat back exhaust.

Was basically told by several other members it would all be a waste of money with the Ford Tune. So consider that as you buy a tune.
Hello Gumbo,
I jumped the gun and added all that stuff already! I figured I screwed my warrantee already! The down pipe and tune will be last power mods I am going to do.
Not trying to be the fastest! just a little faster!

Just to be clear, it's going to be up on the site soon (ours). We're just reeeeeally hesitant about having products up/timelines until we can guarantee shipment, but it's 100% coming this month.

Hello Jason,

Can you tell me the difference, if any between your pipe and the SPD pipe?
Maybe different cat? Heavier flange? Warrantee? Other than price??

Thanks

Ours is 304 stainless steel, features a 400 cell cat (comes with o2 sensor spacer for a fail-safe), and offers a Lifetime Warranty on any manufacturing-related defects.

On top of the $300+ price difference.

If the tune shop is saying go catless, I vote go else where. Only reason I tune shop should suggest an illegal mod would be if they are too lazy to get the AFR right and know it will be too rich or lean resulting in ruining the cat anyway.
I don't want to bite on this but hey why not. Good thought but not their primary reason. The rules here include modification too. Many of their customers and other mods catted cars are getting straight rejected regardless of the emission reading. Also reliability issues with High flow cats. They said register out of the county, or Replace, tune, replace. They have a valid point from a high performance view point as they run race teams.

I was thinking Catted, mod it to pass, Factory Heatshield look, Dead skunk rotting in the engine bay. Maybe they pass on the double check. Goose Stepping Nawzees out here.

My point was only that you shouldn't buy the Ford Tune. Buy an aftermarket. Then I was told you can get the benefit from all the other stuff.

Should be awesome when you're done. Post what tune you ended up buying.

Still not sure on the tune yet!
So many different devices also!
Don't know if I want one with dash display? or just plug and play.
This is all new to me.

Stupid question alert... Is there more of a performance (not sound) increase by adding a catback exhaust or DP? Or would you need to do both for a true performance increase? (sorry, two stupid questions. lol)

I am happy for several years now with the catted SPD. Holding up well

Really flows nice and good sound on startup then it quiets down

Helps with towing. Truck is also tuned, intercooler, other mods

Fixing to pull the trigger on a down pipe!
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Don't know which two is the best, CVF or SPD
I don't mind paying more for
better quality. There is about $200 plus dollars difference in the two.
Both are T304 stainless. Maybe different cat's??
I have heard about a cracking issue with one on the flange.
I read that somewhere on the forum but did not know which brand it was.
Anyone else with info on these pipes please chime in.

Thanks,
The diff is greed.

I am going to see if I can make the Ford tune handle the after market DP with a boost controller. once i satisfy my curiosity then maybe a custom tune. For the simple solution just have a Tuner do the work.
