I have been living in Vegas for 15+ years, just recently found out about the Double Negative land art that was created in 1969 by artist Michael Heizer. Here is a linky for info on the history if you want, it’s a ditch in the desert but they call it art. ?. Ditch linky
Two 1500’ long, 50’ deep, 30’ wide trenches made in 1969. It is not maintained and when it’s gone its gone forever. The desert is vast but I was able to find it. There are no signs and I don’t know the coordinates but I found it.
One hour North of Vegas and about 15 minutes outside of Moapa, NV. I came, I saw, and I had to laugh a little. But I can say I have seen it. Still better than sitting at home watching tv. More one on one time with the new truck.
Smooth road towards the top of the Mesa Because there are s few homes in the area on the downhill side of the Mesa.....
This is the typical offroad terrain in the desert out here. Rocky, sharp and hard stuff everywhere. It is never a smooth ride, it will rattle your tooth fillings.
Two ditches, the second is in the distance on the other side of the canyon.
Second cut is in background over the tail gate.
More pics soon on the ride home.
