I’ve wanted a ceiling storage solution for jackets, shoes, etc. One option, sneaking in D rings to the Yakima roof tracks bottom nut connection, then connecting a cargo net. I had to remove one of these track bolts already for something else and I didn’t like ‘breaking the seal,’ so to speak from the outside to inside. On mine, you can’t simply untwist the interior nut, its way too tight. Doable, sure, but I looked for alternatives.
24” x 10” velcro netting. Amazon of course, $13 for a two pack. I bought 3 two packs. Each has a primary net, then one underneath. Velcro is wide and secure when stretched tightly. Stuffed with coats and shoes, it didn’t show any sign of give from the velcro.
To make a larger net from two nets, I repurposed some ponytail holders, snipped in half and tied little knots to connect the backside of one net to the front side of the other, resulting in a 24” x 20” net. For my truck canopy, I can best access these from side windoors but you can orient any way you want.
