Guys/Gals...for those who are about to tackle a new front bumper, winch bumper,or hidden winch mount install....something to consider if you have an ACC sensor module.

So, I did this in preparation for my 589Fab hidden winch mount and RC9500S winch install a few days ago.
I just want to share how I relocated my ACC sensor utilizing the original bracket.
(since I found out that the aftermarket one I ordered was on backorder).

Tested both around town and Highway. The Adaptive cruise control works as it should, with No error messages or issues.

If you find this helpful, please post your feedback. Thanks ?

Pros:
Use the original bracket and retain
the adjustability.
No issues after relocation, Adaptive cruise works as it should.

Cons:
some drilling required to factory plastic trim
and tray located behind the grille.
(see pics)

May need to add or lenghten the oem ACC wiring harness.
( the one on my Ranger was a bit short)

Need:
Disconnect negative battery cable as part of front bumper removal.
L -brackets, 2-3ā€ in length
trim tool, drill, Screws or bolts, lock washer, nuts
( your preference)

Optional- Add or lengthen the OEM ACC wires as needed:

Adding this pic to clarify where I installed the L bracket for the
bottom of the ACC oem mount.

Hey man did you have to make any modifications to the oem tray to get the bracket through?

I have a bracket from westin and the bottom legs of the bracket is about an inch too long and I might have to cut out 2 holes in the oem tray to make the bracket fit. Either that or try to cut the bracket itself but steel is a lot harder to cut then plastic lol

Not sure about westin bracket, but I just moved the oem ACC module with the orig bracket, slide it Up/ tucked in between the tray and grille. ( see pics from my original posts above)

Do you notice any handling change after adding the winch? Not sure how much your winch set up weighs. When I buy one I will swap out to the braided rope cable, that will save weight and be safer in case it snaps.

Also, I see in your pic that the bumper is off am I to guess that was only to install the winch and you do not have to do that in order to move the acc? Did your winch mount bolt-on or did you have to cut and still ?That's the 1st winch with an oem bumper I've seen, I can live with that!

Hi, Its a 589Fab hidden winch mount:
https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/589-fabs-supercrew-build.8720/page-3#post-193734

The winch is a Rough Country 9500 pro with synthetic rope.
https://589fab.com/products/9500lb-pro-series-electric-winch-synthetic-rope?variant=9039939076161

No issues as far as handling, it looks and drives the same after install.

Thereā€˜s a few threads here about ACC relocation, some does not require bumper removal. (In my case it was easier with the bumper removed). I believe its possible without removing the entire bumper, but you have to remove front fascia and grill to gain access to the bracket/relocate.

Thank you! Does the mounting bracket for the winch use oem ford holes?

The winch mount side plates does use the exiting top bumper mounts, while the bottom is sandwiched between the factory tow hooks and mount.

Great Job!!! Lots of us want to use the factory bumper and hide a winch. But the pesky ACC sensor gets in the way. This is a hopeful sign. Thanks
