I was getting 23 miles in the city 28 on the freeway. I didn't believe those miles so I did a hand calc. So I've been adjusting what the truck reads as miles per gallon to get it more in line with the real MPG.

Since I fill up at half a tank it's taking me longer to match up the Hand calc to truck indicator. So far I have adjusted the mPG to read 19 MPG around town as with the hand calc. Don't have a highway number yet.

Attached is the process to follow to dial in the indicator to match handcalcs. Found this on the forum a while ago. I just got around to actually using it. I am doing this because I am seeing some very high MPGs listed on the Forum. I want to match the hand calc to the trucks calc so I get REAL world MPG.

I think just because some of us are getting high mileage readings from the computer doesn't mean we're not actually getting high mileage. My top out was 28.0mpg per the computer, with a hand calc for that tank coming out at 27.5mpg. Definitely within my own personal tolerance.

Another thing I have noticed is that the computer seems to become more accurate the deeper you go into the tank. When I fill up at half tank, it'll be off by around 1.5mpg. But if I fill up after the light comes on, it'll only be off by around 0.5mpg. More data means more accurate reading. Just thought I'd throw that out there as well.

I reset mine this morning. It wasn’t far off, but I’m a perfectionist. I have standard gauge with single screen. The whole screen becomes dedicated to Engineer Test Mode. You have to scroll through quite a few pages to get to the AFE screen. If you havent touched it it will 1000 in the AFE factor position.

I used the AFE screen but forgot to save the new settings LOL Now I saved the new settings @ 942......Fuel Mileage indicator is bout 1/8 the difference to hand calc And was a basically 3-4 MPG difference......negative lol.

My truck has consistently shown about 1 mpg higher than my calc. Still decent mileage for winter blend fuel at about 21 mpgs.
