Yeah, I hope it's crap. I just spent a month trying to figure out what I really want.
Sent emails to 3 dealers and only one has responded yet.
I did email Granger for a quote so hopefully they know.
Now I'm panicked until I get some more responses.

So this is just super anecdotal. Take it with a grain of salt.

I have an order in with a dealership. And occasionally I like to see what they have incoming.

For the past while (prices on the website) incoming ‘22s were $2500 discount. In fact I was just looking yesterday.

Today I peeked and they are now a $2500 addendum (mark up).

how did that happen all of the sudden? Seems the Maverick pause on orders and now possibly a pause on Ranger orders might have something to do with it. Like perhaps “my dealership” knows something is up too.

(note from another thread… I just picked up a Ranger from dealer inventory at a different dealership, and likely won’t continue with the order at this dealership)

Maybe the 23's new body is coming out early, like july aug and they got enough 22 orders on the books?

Really doubt that.

Asked my dealer today (Vancouver Canada). They have had no word of a Ranger freeze. Lightning aand mavericks yes. Ranger not yet.

For what it is worth.

I don’t believe this one bit for a couple reasons. First, as we have seen Ranger is one of the models that is typically (not always, but typically) fairly easy to get scheduled. Last week a lot of November and December orders for 2022’s got scheduled late February and early March. With the current manufacturing climate that’s pretty good. The Ranger is far from being the most popular Ford product right now. Although Ford is likely trying to run more Broncos down the line because of how popular they are Rangers are still intermixed on the line.

Second 2022’s will be produced at least until late fall. The next generation won’t be ready to run down the line until Summer 2023. The next gen may very well be a 2024 model year with the current generation as a short 2023 model year, but either way there is no way they are stopping orders on a model run right now that might be in production for another 10-11 months.

I don’t even think that’s legal as far as building a 2021 model year after Jan. 1, 2022. Now it’s very possible they still have some already produced 2021’s sitting around waiting on chips and/or parts, but anything actually built after Jan. 1st has to be a 2022.
