Hi all,
I have a new-to-me 2019 Raptor and wanted a couple of Swing Cases for the back. I looked around the places selling them and saw them listed them as "Fits Ford Ranger 2012-2016 (T6) 2016-2019 (T7) and 2019+ (T8) Double and Super Cab pickups". Example
They're not cheap in the UK ~$550/pair and there isn't a lot of stock, so I thought my luck had come in when I snagged a pair (separately, from different sellers) on eBay.
Now they're here, I've come to install them and they seem to have brackets that are completely different to what I need. They were both listed as being for Rangers, and they're both the same. They don't have the over the top loop type end to fit the horizontal tie-down like the one installed in the Stage 3 Motorsports video on Youtube. They have a shorter bracket that has vertically arranged holes. And the plate that should fit by the tailgate into the 3 holes already there isn't nearly deep enough and has 4 offset holes which would require drilling right by the corner of the bed.
I've definitely got the wrong brackets, but it's strange that I've ended up with two wrong ones, both the same. So I'm assuming these aren't common across all Rangers from 2012 and later?
Is there a source for replacement brackets? I can't return my cases, and I really don't want to have to try and sell them on and get new ones. And if I could find new ones, would they fit? I thought about fabricating the forward part that connects hinge-plate to the front tie-down, but now I see the hinge-plate doesn't fit either, I'd have to make the entire thing from scratch. I've tried to find Undercover, but the site seems dead.
