Hey forum,

keeping our beloved pickup trucks clean can be a real challenge—especially those tricky spots like the gap between the truck bed and the cabin. Dust, debris, leaves... they all seem to find a home in that tight space, don’t they?

So here’s the big question: What tools and methods do you use to clean that hard-to-reach spot? 🧐

Some people swear by brushes, others try compressed air, and a few even get creative with homemade gadgets. But no matter what method you use, we know the battle is real!

At Wolfbox, we’ve got a game-changer for you: the Wolfbox Air Duster MF200. 💨 Compact, powerful, and rechargeable, it’s the perfect tool to blow away dirt and debris from those impossible-to-reach areas—like that pesky gap in your truck!

We’d love to hear your tips and tricks! Drop your cleaning hacks in the comments below and let’s keep those pickups looking sharp together.

Move to Arizona! lol :tumbleweed:

Besides dust I've honestly never had any trouble with to much stuff getting in between the cab & bed but being in AZ there's not any leaves or pine needles to get trapped in there. When I'm washing my truck I just turn the pressure down on my power washer and spray the gap there.

Same, if my wash mitt doesn't reach it, or pressure washer can't clear it, it stays. But honestly, my truck usually gets pretty clean, when I have the time.
Now those who treat their truck like a showpiece, and I used to on vehicles years ago, you get creative, like using Q-tips to clean hard to reach spaces like air vents and other tight spots in the interior.

This isn't just a cleanliness issue. I have a lot of trees in my yard and the leaves go in the top but can't get out the bottom. So if I don't clean them out I have wet leaves against the metal. I have partly alleviated the issue by putting 1" round foam gap sealer along the top. It isn't perfect but is better than nothing. I was thinking of trying foam pipe insulation, which is a bit larger diameter.

There was/is a thread from a few years ago that I can't find that had a photo, as I recall, from under the truck, that showed a rubber (??) strip covering the gap between the cab and the bed, which of course traps the leaves. I don't recall if that "flap" can be removed easily... maybe just cut it off with a knife.

I have not found a "tool" that will reach from the top of the bed and open the gap to push the leaves out. Tried a yard stick but is did not seem to work. Shop vac does not have an attachment to reach that far down given the small gap.

Anyone actually have a method to works other than removing the flap??

I think this was the one you're referring to. It looks to be a big PITA to get to but doable. Bret @Porpoise Hork did it to his and has pictures of it here.

Some have added a small piece of pipe insulation across the top where the bed and cab meet and seem to have had good luck keeping junk out with this.

Take it to the car wash, FTB, let it dry itself off driving back home. Don't worry about anything between the cab and the bed, that's what's holding it together.
