Don't any of you note, on paper, when you do fluid changes, tire rotations, ect ???
Back of owners manual are plenty of blank pages to note date/mileage/what was done to keep a record.
Since day one any work goes down on paper. For Ranger, wife's Subi, lawn equipment.....
Even have a note board in garage reminding me of when next is due....
I've been keeping an Excel spreadsheet on all my vehicles since 2007. And a file folder with all receipts.

I make an entry at every fill up to track MPG as well.

The one item I couldn't care less about....just to many variables to consider, towing, not towing, in town, out of town....never a concern for me. I need gas, get gas !!!

I get it, but I like to see if there are any trends or sudden changes.

I have a 3-ring binders for both vehicles and my MC with every receipt for repair and maintenance. I have used Quicklane almost exclusively on the Ranger and since 2015 on the 2009 Marine.r I service the Mariner every 3000mi as it is driven short trips, and the Ranger every 6000 mi.
For me it is easier to simply divide the current 10K milage by either 3 or 6 divisors: The Ranger is coming up at 78,000. 6 will go into 78 evenly. Make an appointment. The MC's do all work myself and I have 8 x 11 notebooks in its binder where I keep track of shim sizes used in valve adjustment, date and milage for tire install, brake fluid changes, clutch plates, etc

I'm just old school. Even keep a small 3x5 inch note book....those .50 cent type in glove compartment to note stuff down.....even stuff I buy for the vehicles that have a warranty, or just to help me remember what/when I bought something.
Folder in office desk gets all the receipts...
Being old school too I use to do this but then I'd have notes all over the place and some would get lost. Now I use my phones notepad for just about everything and what's nice you can just use the search bar to find what you're looking for.

I also use the reminds app and you can customize it for repeated reminders. It's great for reminding you to check the water filters (house &fridge), or raise and lower the irrigation timer and especially for appointments. For longer dates I'll set it for a week before and then move it up to 2 days etc... Now there's a lot less clutter on the table/desk and everything syncs to my laptop for easy checking/viewing.

You should use the Fuelly app. It records all your fill ups and calculates your average mpg for you. You can also upload all your receipts if needed.

I don't think I need to add another step in there. I have formulas set up in the spreadsheet that calculates MPG and how many miles are on the current tires. I put everything I do in there, even wiper blade replacement.

I know there are all kinds of apps I could add to the phone, desk top and notebook.....even my Kindle....
But when I say old school....well I'm talking about 60 years of doing the same thing. First car at 15 and keeping written info ever since...
Until the last few vehicles we've owned, even used to keep info in the separate Chilton's I had for each...
Hard to change !!!

I've been doing it that way for almost 50 years and I'm one who hates any change. But, once you break the habit it really becomes much easier and quicker to locate things.

I ignore my "change oil" notification and change oil every 5K regardless.
