I heard used car prices were on the rise again. Didn't verify.
I think you're right Steve. I keep seeing a lot of articles and YouTube videos on how the cost of new cars are rising way to fast now. Some are saying if this continues only the rich will be able to afford them.

One podcast I was watching they talked about how Toyota first came into the US market and made very good cars at reasonable prices and started to take away sales from all the US manufacturers. They said we need another one like that to step up and do this again because there's really nothing out there in the mid $20K-$30K range. I think the problem with that though is all the US regulations now and what has to be standard (airbags, rear cams etc) is driving that low price point higher.

With ours they just handed us the agred upon check after taking a picture of the vin number and having us sign over the title. After that the guy took pictures before loading on the carrier. I think that was to verify if he damaged it in transit.
When I sold my Jeep to Driveway they never even looked at it. The only picture I sent them was of the odometer. Even the day he shoed up to take it we sat at the table, filled out the paperwork and he handed me a check. Then he went out in the garage and got in and drove off without ever looking it over. That's just crazy even though it only had 1,200 miles on it but I had taken pictures all around just for my own records in case something were to happen.

I just got an email from my dealer wanting to buy my Ranger. Said he had a customer all lined up if I was willing to sell. My guess is they look up the VIN’s on customer cars and if they don’t show any problems with warranty work they fire off the emails hoping they can hook someone into a trade in.

I would suspect that with Carvana's current financial woes that their offers would be lower.

I just updated mine out of curiosity and it was $33k, even though it's now almost worn out with 21k miles on it. ?

That number is still a bit more than I paid for it.

Carmax is currently $30k

Vroom is currently $29,600

Not bad for a 3+ year old truck.

Oh, and @AzScorpion , mine was also damper equipped ?
Vroom just emailed me that they've increased my offer by $4k.

Carvana and Carmax both went down a couple hundred dollars.

Today Carvana’s share prices is $9.82 ea. Not that long ago it was $150 a share! Their Gross margin is 9.16%, Operation expenses is 30.42%, Operating income -21.27% and net profit -21.27%. That a death sentence in any type of study!

Right now, my Carmax offer is $1500 more than Carvana and Vroom is $3000 higher,

Driveway is usually higher than both but I don't check it often due to them always calling my phone mere seconds after I submit, even though I expressly selected email contact. I give them my Google voice number to avoid the BS.

Check around. You might be surprised.

All of my current offers are higher than they were in my March post, though Vroom is only slightly more than their emailed adjusted offer from then.

Carvana is lowballing me on my Transit. Not one available anywhere for less than 10 grand more than they are offering me.
