Having a recurring issue with music playing as voice with Apple CarPlay
(flat, front speakers only, no nav prompts, etc.) instead of normal audio - anyone else have this issue and figure out how to quickly fix this?

The only consistent fix I’ve found is power phone off/on which is annoying. Seems like the truck gets stuck thinking I’m on a call or using Siri.

I’ve tried activating Siri, making a call, unplugging and plugging in, force closing music apps, navigation apps, turning CarPlay off/on, and switching audio sources, sometimes these fix it, but none consistently.

I couldn’t find anything on this topic in google searches, so I figured I’d try you all!

Thanks in advance

I haven’t experienced this specific issue, but updating iOS may be something to try. Apple just released iOS 15 on Monday. I updated my phone to iOS 15 and haven’t had any issues with CarPlay.

Thank you, I’ll take a look at Bluetooth settings, it’s intermittent so maybe I can make a permanent setting change so it’s more permanent. Couldn’t get it to do it today, but I’ll also try the iOS update.

I've had a similar issue with Android Auto. If you hit the voice prompt button on the steering wheel once, then once again to cancel it might help.
