Has anyone ever seen this before?
I am looking at a truck and it says built by Ford Motor company and then Antirouille Metropolitain St-Hyacinthe, QC. Which Is Canada It say the the ODO is at 301 KM. If you scroll down the carfax it has the ODO in miles.
Then if you go to KBB and put in the VIN it says assembled in the USA.
I have included screenshots.

Built in the US, sold through a dealer in Canada. Rustproofed in Canada. Can you click on the link for the window sticker? It may give you more info

well it now has 8200 miles on it. Most likely someone from Canada traded it in the US. Seems like the carfax would have title transfer info that would explain its journey

So Built in the USA, sold to a Canadian who then sold it back to the USA?

Something seems very strange here right?

I actually owned a Canadian tundra once, it very clear cut. The truck's carfax, said built in Canada and then the first owner was Canadian. The truck ODO was listen Km's. It was then bought by a guy in the USA. It was all spelled out.

Might be best to pass on this truck.

There have been a couple of reasonable explanations given here. A little more time and effort tracing the trucks History might help ypu feel better about it all. Did you call the selling dealer and ask what they know of it?
Even so, if youre leery of buying it then just don't.
Move on to one you're more comfortable with.

All of the Rangers that get sold in Canada are built in the US at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne,Michigan. Switching the displays from KM to Miles is as simple as going into settings on the dash display and selecting whichever you want. You could always ask the dealer for the ownership history

Exactly, 2 minutes of googling found that Carfax has 20 service records for this vehicle

O Canada!

My favourite subject and it is my honour to help my southern neighbours navigate the waters of our harbours as they labour with trying to understand our ways. Sorry - sometimes my online behaviour can be a bit colourful.

Nothing to be concerned aboot at all. Well, except that it’s from Quebec and you likely won’t get the smell of beer, cigarettes, and hockey equipment out of it.

Rangers in Canada are built at Michigan Assembly Plant along with the U.S. Rangers. None are made in Canada but are specifically built for our regulations and climate. The 2WD was not made available here and neither was the SuperCab in Lariat trim.

It is not unusual for dealers to buy a trade-in from another dealer, broker or wholesaler. It is not unusual for Canadian vehicles to be resold in the states through those channels. Metric to Imperial is a simple menu selection but a Canadian Ranger’s instrument cluster will show km/hr and mph, with km/hr being predominant.

As far as that Canadian Tundra goes, I doubt it was built here. Indiana, then Texas.

Current products built in Canada
  • Lexus RX (2003–present) South Plant (Except 2024+ RX450h+ PHEV)
  • Toyota RAV4 (2007–present) West Plant, (2019–present) North Plant
  • Lexus NX (2022–present) North Plant (Except 2022+ NX 450h+ PHEV)
Former products built in Canada
What you had was a Canadian build (“always on” DRLs, block heater, metric instrument cluster, maybe some mud flaps, rustproofing, or an upgraded starter, maybe a third brake light before they were required in the U.S.). Probably an incorrect notation on the CarFax report or an incorrect assumption by you or the dealer at that time.

When I was looking for my truck, I ran across a bunch of these Canadian imports. Every one of them had a set of Carfax records associated with the importation and DOT conversion. They all had the Canadian sticker as well. It's nothing to be concerned about if it has the DOT signoff.
