While I know there's better aftermarket options out there (Line-X, etc...) I'll vouch for the factory spray-in bedliner. I've always used drop-ins in my trucks, so a spray-in was something new for me.
I've been demoing a 25 X 25 room in my house (new man cave....RRrrrrr RRRRrrrrr) which has had me making multiple dump runs full of 2x4's with nails in them, tons of drywall, and all sorts of hard-edged debris. I was really leery of the spray-in bedliner thinking it would rip, gouge or just plain out not protect the bed as well as a drop-in.
Well, it has performed admirably. I expected marks and overall nastiness afterward, but just spraying it out with a hose, it looks good as new.
Just if you were having any reservations when buying your Ranger with a factory spray-in bedliner, it should cover most of what an average homeowner would use a midsize truck for.
...and if you aren't comfortable still, I'm sure Line-X and others would be more than enough for most everyone.
