You must take off sway bar links. It really takes an extra 5 min per side and there will be zero damage. If you have to pry down hard enough to pop the swaybar link or axle, that would be the first clue. PS, more than likely your link will pop out in the future.
I am the Fixed Operations Director for Tuttle Click California, I have seven dealerships, have been the Fixed Op director for Capistrano Ford for 29 years, and a Master Jag tech before that.
Just installed mine. Customer service was A++, the quality was perfect, and the install could not have been easier. These are hands down the best sliders I have ever installed.
This thread is blown way out of proportion. Its simple, Ford made a mistake, and the dealer did a shit PDI. Life happens, they are going to make it right. And please, never use oil or anti-seize on the wheel studs.
I am going to call Bullshit on this. We check all lug-nuts on all PDI's and we do on occasion find lug nuts not tight. If Ford is so confident, why don't you just remove the checking of the lug nut on your PDI form? We find all kinds of problems on new vehicles... BS
Smart move, every 5k. We get vehicles in that are 2-3 qts low at 10k. It does nothing but ruin Turbos. It does however make dealers money in the long run, but very unfortunate for the consumer. It also tells you to check your oil at each fill up, who in the hell does that, not a soccer mom, she...
20min taking my time. Super easy. If you have the correct filter socket, it comes right of using a long extension and a ratchet. spray a little brake cleaner on the filter drain tray and you wont have a drop of oil left. You don't need to remove the wheel. Its way easier than a F-150.
Quicklane in 100% Ford, and owned by the dealer in that primary market. the rules of repair are decided by the dealer, not Ford, even though Ford does suggest certain guidelines. Quicklane can be either stand alone or part of the existing dealership. Quicklane can perform all of the same repairs...
One of the Ford stores that I run has a pretty good Quicklane. We have 9 techs, run two shifts, open til midnight. Depending on the day, we can get to the point where its a hour and a half for a works, but honestly, when you figure 8 minuets for the write-up, car gets staged, tech pulls in and...
Diesel engines have zero detonation issues. New modern VCT controlled timed Turbo engines live on the edge of pre-detonation. They will melt a piston in a heartbeat. It has all to do with it. Read about LSPI, Ford and many other manufactures reformulated there oil to stop this. I think many...
Rotella is a really bad idea for a high compression turbo charged engine. It will cause micro oil droplets on decell in the combustion chamber, then detonation on hard excel. Rotella does not have the correct additives for these engines.
