So since you were able to "slide" it betweetn the headliner and the roof itself, I'm presuming you didnt bother with removing the adhesive backing, just sliding it in there with the paper on?
I took the backing off and slid it between everything. I definitely creased the rear cab of the headliner a little while pulling it back, but after putting it back together you can’t notice it was creased at all.

Most people in this thread are overthinking this. It’s a super easy mod. One of those things that’s hard to explain and there’s a few different ways to do it. Once you get going taking the trim pieces off to get the headliner down, you’ll see how easy it is. Just give it a shot, you won’t regret it!

So did the type you use not have a sticky back also what thickness.. TIA
It did have the sticky back. Just carefully slide it in. The backing isn’t that sticky until you use some pressure to fully press it on. It’s easier than you think. Cheers

Keep in mind that sound deadening material should be applied with a small roller as the adhesive is pressure activated. Pressing on by hand may not show any issues when applied to a floor pan but in a lot of instances hot summer sun will cause it to loose adhesion on vertical and overhead areas if not properly rolled on.
