Hey y'all,
I'm finally pulling the trigger on the first phase of my build. I'm about half-way through my purchases and I'm hoping someone can double-check my research here and affirm that this budgeting & build sounds about right.
Bought in January of 2023:
2020 Ranger Sport 4x4 Supercrew 33k miles
Longhorn Orange
I'm wanting to up the aggression and off-road capability, but it's still very much a daily driver and will ideally be forever, so I'm going middle of the line in terms of capability/lift/tires.
Already purchased:
Eibach Pro-Truck-Lift-Stage 2.0 $1025.99
ReadyLift (less intrusive) Crash Bars $128.70
Eibach Rear Lift Blocks 1" $66.44
About to purchase:
(5) Kenda Klever R/T KR601 LT285/70R17 E/10PLY BSW Tires $1277.75
(5) Nomad Wheels 503SB Sahara Satin Black 17x8.5 | 6x139.7 | -10 $1627.35
To achieve this look:
This totals $4126.38 in parts
Im expecting another $1k-$1.5k in labor costs and alignment/tuning
Places I'm thinking I'd save money:
I don't see an inherent reason I'd need new UCAs or Leaf Springs
I'll probably replace the crash bars myself
I could attempt to install the suspension myself but as it'd be my first time, I think I'd rather have a trusted shop do it and make sure everything is done correctly
I could buy a cheaper 5th wheel, but I'm not sure if this would save me much money.
My questions/thoughts:
Am I missing anything crucial?
I think I'm splurging on the wheels & tires
I'm about to nuke my MPG
I'm open to any and all advice!
Currently how she sits:
