Hey y'all,

I'm finally pulling the trigger on the first phase of my build. I'm about half-way through my purchases and I'm hoping someone can double-check my research here and affirm that this budgeting & build sounds about right.

Bought in January of 2023:
2020 Ranger Sport 4x4 Supercrew 33k miles
Longhorn Orange

I'm wanting to up the aggression and off-road capability, but it's still very much a daily driver and will ideally be forever, so I'm going middle of the line in terms of capability/lift/tires.

Already purchased:

Eibach Pro-Truck-Lift-Stage 2.0 $1025.99
ReadyLift (less intrusive) Crash Bars $128.70
Eibach Rear Lift Blocks 1" $66.44

About to purchase:
(5) Kenda Klever R/T KR601 LT285/70R17 E/10PLY BSW Tires $1277.75
(5) Nomad Wheels 503SB Sahara Satin Black 17x8.5 | 6x139.7 | -10 $1627.35

To achieve this look:
Screenshot 2023-10-12 at 4.16.18 PM.webp

This totals $4126.38 in parts
Im expecting another $1k-$1.5k in labor costs and alignment/tuning

Places I'm thinking I'd save money:
I don't see an inherent reason I'd need new UCAs or Leaf Springs
I'll probably replace the crash bars myself
I could attempt to install the suspension myself but as it'd be my first time, I think I'd rather have a trusted shop do it and make sure everything is done correctly
I could buy a cheaper 5th wheel, but I'm not sure if this would save me much money.

My questions/thoughts:
Am I missing anything crucial?
I think I'm splurging on the wheels & tires
I'm about to nuke my MPG

I'm open to any and all advice!

MPG won't take as much a hit as youd think, that air dam under the bumper will have to go, if you are going above 3 inches in the front you need new uca's as far as the leafs, nah you are good. (assuming the kit has shocks, if it doesn't I would advise doing those as well). As far as the tires Idk bout the kendas, I have heard some good stuff but also more than a few extremely concerning things about them as well so I would be hesitant about those. Oh for your lift you have to check and see if you have the aluminum or cast ball joints cause they and the respective lifts that are for them are not cross compatible

Similar setup so your mileage will probably drop to 16 city, 18 highway...and that's driving with an egg between your foot and the gas pedal...

Thanks a ton. What'd you hear about the kendas?

Wear pretty poorly and very inconsistent quality as far as the tires themselves (manufacturing issues), and the requisite "oh they are too loud and hurt the mpg and they vibrate!" But that is gonna be any aggressive tire.

For MPG, you should consider C load rather than E, and skinny tires rather than wide for better performance in nearly every scenario.

Update here:
Thanks to this forum I was able to do everything myself. It did take me way longer than other people seemed to estimate though (almost 20 hours total), especially because I did the front suspension swaps by myself and prying the old struts out and getting the new struts in was a major pain in the ass. Also putting the rear lift blocks in with just a floor jack and jack stands was a little dicey but I made it work. With the price of labor of saved and the tools I now own I think it was well worth it... I think.

The ready lift anti-intrusion crash bars ended up not having enough clearance with the 33" tires, so I am officially crashbar-less.

The Rugged terrain E-class tires are a little noisy and definitely ride a lot stiffer but they are amazing off-road. Truck feels a lot heavier as well. MPG dropped about 4-5mpg, and I did have to take the air dam off.

I put about 600 miles on it this weekend to and from the blue ridge mountains and everything is feeling and looking good:
