Yeah those look great, That's pretty much the same idea.

I did a template checking size and fitment. Still working on the design. But the goods news is a 52mm gauge fits.

Made it 40mm deep with the gauge coming forward 5 mm. beveled airflow edges, should work. It's just 89mm long so should print on most 3d printers.

That looks awesome!

PazPodz told me they could make one if I sent them my air vent. Anyone wanna be their test subject? I have other projects in the works and am putting the boost gauge on the back burner for the time being.

finished item. Of course I've got to change my PLA to black and print it. Not sure about the blacked out face gauge, it was just what I had from another car.

Anyway I've uploaded this project to Thingiverse if anyone wants it.

So now to find a "FORD" looking gauge... Anyone find one? Blue needle/pointer for sure and the more sweep the better. I Love the VDO gauge, but the needle is the wrong color.

Autometer has Ford Performance branded gauges.

Still red needle, but FORD

And the price!!! Ouch! I went ahead and just bought a analog/digital combo one with a red needle. I did find a blue needle one but they are all branded with jdm logos on them. Ugh. I wanted something that looked factory-ish. But I guess it's function over style in this case. I did snag an extra vent so I can always return it to stock. I'm not sure yet what all in involved to remove the vents. And will adjust my 3d print as needed to fit.

Spendy and still no blue needles. Crazy Ford hasn't had red needled gauges in years.... but I suppose not many folks are putting gauges in newer Fords.

I would not use PLA in the truck. ABS, or PC would be much better in the truck.

So I bought a vent to be able to work with without having my truck torn apart. I will have a new print shortly. The gauge will need to stick out 10mm due to the vent being tapered. Also the vent is curved not flat which my design fits behind the bezel, it just doesn't look right.

Okay here is my 2nd attempt. Curved to fit the vent perfectly.

Vent comes apart very nicely with several tabs. However the inside of the vent will need to be opened up for a 52mm gauge to seat flush. (I used a 2" hole saw in reverse) I just ran the drill inside the mount I printed as a guide. Very little needs to be removed.

Fits together nice and snug

Top cover needs to be clearanced. It will fit without doing this but the opening is slightly smaller.

And together looks something like this (Not the gauge I am using.... just a dummy for the build I had laying around).

When backlit looks like this

I moved the gauge to the top of the vent but will do a couple of versions.

Grab it here... All I ask is you show off your vent when you are done.

For those that want their Vent on top and gauge on the bottom, I created a 2nd version.

(The print is not symmetrical and cannot be just flipped as the bottom of the vent has a 8 degree angle on it.)
