I had this material on my former Jeep Grand Cherokee. At first I was concerned on longevity but this stuff was fabulous. Kept down the noise and cleaned up way better than the alternative.

I think the material is ok but it would have been nice if ford tried to protect the truck more instead of being cheap. The coverage is so poor everybody wants husky to make liners. Myself I would like to cover the swiss cheese frame by the rear tires to keep the rust away...

I saw a ranger yesterday and those fabric inner fenders were both busted towards the rear. I could see where a stick would just rip them without effort.
The owner obviously had been driving the truck for sometime after they tore out, because mud had built up.

Why is it when a design decision is made that we don't particarly like it is the company being "cheap"? Yes cost is a factor in the decision. As Phil has repeatedly said Ford designs to the 90th percential, why because it is impossible to hit 100%. Above 90% the cost benefit goes away. Would you want to pay twice as much for your truck and have it weigh 50% more?

As far as the rear wheel wells go, covering it up will only make it look better, won't do a think to stop the rust. I'd rather be able to see it and do something about it.

I like the possible sound deadening idea, but I'd like to see an aftermarket plastic that could be installed right over the top of the felt liner. Something that could ricochet a rock rather than have a hole busted through it.

I like the idea of what you're saying... but I've never heard of that happening. Never from people I know, and never as a "I know a guy" story.

I seen the photos you posted earlier, but did you speak to the owner to get the facts, do you know them?

Not to sound cynical, but people abuse, misuse, and neglect their vehicles all the time. And lots will always lay it at the feet of the manufacturer, rather than admit fault.

I'm not young, and mileage will vary.

I didn't speak to the actual person who had that happen because this was a used Ranger for sale at a dealership. It's pretty easy for me to deduce that they drove over something. It was like that on both sides. My guess is they were driving over branches and it tore those portions out.

Audi, VW, Mercedes?
Sounds like it's been tried and tested for off road. :(

To be fair this has been on the the F-Series trucks for years. You've shown photos from one person. Someone I don't know from Adam.
