One other question if you do not mind, would an SL tire be just fine for a normal use Ranger? If an SL is good for 2000+ lbs per tire and our Rangers with the curb weight, passengers and full payload are under 7000 lbs, it seems to me that they would be totally adequate.Excellent photoshop @Swingpure!
As far increasing size, It really depends on what the performance expectation is. If handling/steering response is high on the priority list, then increasing to a taller tire with more sidewall height may not be the right choice.
That being said, there are tire models in plus sizes that are tailored more towards on-road performance., even under the all-terrain segment. The Michelin defender LTX M/S is a solid choice and a couple A/T models that come to mind would be the Continental TerrainContact A/T and WildPeak A/T3W.
